NextUp uses a collective approach to increase the scale, quality, and impact of out-of-school time programs throughout the city. Program Providers in NextUp’s network offer youth hands-on learning and enrichment opportunities that motivate and inspire them to success. Network Providers have access to free or low-cost professional development opportunities and quarterly networking events.
Providers are invited to submit program applications once per year through the Out-of-School Request for Proposals (RFP) process.
The School Year 2024-2025/Summer 2025 RFP closed on February 23, 2024. Applicants will be notified of decisions by April 12, 2024.

This section is intended to provide information and resources specifically for current approved providers. These providers have submitted and been approved in the most recent Request for Proposals.
The following resources are for approved providers:
NextUp RVA is seeking volunteer provider application reviewers for the upcoming Out-of-School Time Request for Proposals (RFP). Reviewers are expected to provide an impartial and objective review of applications submitted to NextUp for funding consideration.
All reviewers are screened for conflicts of interest and will receive training on how to score proposals. Reviewer names will be public information.
Interested reviewers should submit an interest form.
NextUp RVA is a nonprofit organization helping youth discover their talents and build positive relationships. It does this by managing a strong system of accessible out-of-school time programs delivered in schools and across the city. When youth participate in quality out-of-school time programs, they learn new skills, find out what they are good at, gain confidence and are engaged learners.
