Joe Bertoletti brings over 20 years of experience improving outcomes for young people through direct service, capacity building, and systems development in education and youth development. His consulting approach blends social work facilitation and social justice frameworks with systems thinking and data-driven problem solving. Joe partners with policymakers, funders, and system leaders to strengthen evaluation practices and support high-quality instruction and environments for youth.
Amir Elsayed is a youth development professional and Director of Strategic Partnerships at NextUp, with a decade of nonprofit experience leading programs and systems that foster collaboration and improve youth outcomes across Richmond, Virginia.
Eric Garmon is the Director of Data Systems and Analytics at NextUp, leading the strategic integration of data systems to enhance impact across 130+ youth-serving providers. With over 15 years of experience in youth development, public health, and nonprofit strategy, he combines data expertise with community voice to advance equity and ensure access to high-quality learning opportunities. Previously, he oversaw evaluation and strategic impact for the National MS Society.
Dr. Shanee Harmon, PMP, is a seasoned data systems leader and CEO of the Foundation for Art & Health, with over 20 years of cross-sector experience and a strong commitment to mentoring youth in tech and healthcare.
Greg Hopkins is a public safety and juvenile justice expert with over 30 years of experience. He currently serves as the Senior Policy Advisor for Gun Violence Prevention for the City of Richmond. Prior to this role, Greg was the Safer Communities Program Coordinator at the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), where he oversaw several state and federally funded grant programs, including Operation Cease fire, Firearm Violence Intervention and Prevention, the Juvenile Justice Title II Formula Grants, and the Safer Communities Grant Programs.
Charles Paige III is the Director of Family and Community Engagement for Richmond Public Schools, where he leads district-wide efforts to strengthen school-family partnerships and ensure students are supported in nurturing, inclusive environments. His work centers on removing barriers, uplifting community voice, and building systems that help every child thrive.
Jeanine Turner, Chief Impact Officer at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond, brings over 20 years of leadership in youth development, education, and nonprofit sectors, including roles at NextUp, as a teacher and principal, and as a consultant.
NextUp RVA is a nonprofit organization helping youth discover their talents and build positive relationships. It does this by managing a strong system of accessible out-of-school time programs delivered in schools and across the city. When youth participate in quality out-of-school time programs, they learn new skills, find out what they are good at, gain confidence and are engaged learners.
