Joining the NextUp Network

The NextUp Network is comprised of 140+ youth development organizations that have applied through our RFP process. Though not all in-network partners are selected for funding every year, each has the opportunity to receive free professional development opportunities, technical assistance, and coaching.

Professional development opportunities

All approved network members can attend free professional development opportunities through NextUp. Training is aligned with the Weikart Center’s The Youth Program Quality Improvement (YPQI) Social Emotional Leaning Methods Training Model (valued at $600 per training). Grant management, systems, and data management training are also available at no cost.

Providers in the network can also schedule one-on-one coaching and technical assistance with our NextUp team to create a development plan for:

  • Your program data and outcomes
  • Program quality
  • Staff and youth connection
  • Much more!

Professional development opportunities and grading rubrics are based on the Weikart Center’s YPQI model and statewide OST standards like VPOST’s.

Network connections

Join a circle of peers working to expand access to afterschool and summer programs together. Our networking opportunities and trainings are a great way to connect, collaborate, and make lasting relationships with fellow program providers.

Joining the NextUp Network FAQs

There is no cost for in-network organizations. Please contact info@nextuprva.org about training opportunities for those outside of the network.

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage all front-line staff of in-network organizations to attend.

A calendar is provided on a bi-weekly basis by email and newsletter. You must be in-network to sign up for training. Days and times are based upon provider feedback.
