Youth and Community Safety Symposium

The Youth and Community Safety Symposium is a community event bringing together youth, residents, and city leaders to discuss strategies for preventing gun violence and promoting safer neighborhoods. Attendees can participate in panel discussions, creative showcases, spoken word performances, music, community healing activities. The event takes place on Friday, June 26, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Southside Community Center in Richmond, Virginia.

NextUp RVA is a nonprofit organization helping youth discover their talents and build positive relationships. It does this by managing a strong system of accessible out-of-school time programs delivered in schools and across the city. When youth participate in quality out-of-school time programs, they learn new skills, find out what they are good at, gain confidence and are engaged learners.
