There’s a growing demand for more accessible and affordable afterschool and summer programs for Richmond youth. NextUp is working to meet this need by equipping and mobilizing our network of local out-of-school time partners and creating easy-to-use resources for our community to connect with quality afterschool and summer programs.

Introducing: NextUp’s Youth Program Locator

NextUp’s Youth Program Locator is available for families to browse and connect with nearby youth programs. Most of the programs listed on the Locator come at no cost to youth ages 11 – 19 living in the City of Richmond.

Summer programs are featured from May to August, and school year programs are shown from August to April.

Youth must be registered to attend any program listed on the Youth Program Locator. Parents and guardians may not drop off youth at programs without completing registration and program paperwork and confirming contact details.

When will new programs become available?

The Program Locator is updated at the beginning of the summer and the start of each school year to promote programs available at different times of the year. NextUp is also working to add more partnering programs in the future, including paid programs, programs with financial assistance available, and free programs.

Be sure to bookmark the Youth Program Locator as programs and camps become available throughout the year!

How can I add my youth program to the locator?

At this time, we are prioritizing partnering organizations that are vetted and approved to be in the NextUp Network, but we are working to care for additional listings in the future. Please contact info@nextuprva.org for any questions or inquiries, and sign up for our newsletter for the latest updates.
