Youth are recovering from a two-year pandemic and need more support and opportunities to address learning loss and mental health stressors, to reconnect with peers, and to explore their interests and discover their talents. Schools cannot do it alone; this is why out of school time (OST) matters.
NextUp coordinates efforts and resources into a cohesive system so that schools and program providers can offer high-quality activities that benefit as many young people as possible. Providing them and their families with fewer barriers to accessing OST programs.
NextUp works to fill gaps that cannot be filled as efficiently or cost-effectively by a single provider, school system, or government agency.
At NextUp, we aim to empower youth to think, dream, and create. Despite the abundance of data and proof of effectiveness, quality OST and expanded learning programs remain out of reach for many families at a time when access to these programs is more important than ever.
